Dog Gone Smart® Pet Products is dedicated to bringing you the most innovative products in today’s market – products that have been tested and really work!
Improving quality of life
Ten years ago, animal behaviourist and canine expert Chris Onthank set out to solve many of the common pet problems we face today. Having worked with dogs his whole life, Chris knows what products work best to keep them healthy, happy and safe. He also understands the day-to day struggles that both pets and their owners face, such as walking the dog, and designs products that help alleviate the stress associated with these tasks.
Joined by a team of experts from around the world, Dog Gone Smart is known for introducing innovative products and technologies that improve the quality of life for both pets and their owners. In addition to its core line Repelz-It™ products of dog bedding and outerwear, Dog Gone Smart’s award winning products range from the Original Dirty Dog Doormat™ product line, to the NINJA Bed for the toughest of chewers, to the newest innovative dog walking device, I’m Gismo. This global manufacturer of innovative pet products continues to expand its product offering, catering toboth the pet and the pet owner.
Product innovation
Dog Gone Smart is excited to usher in a new era of dog walking. The I’m Gismo dog walking system is designed to eliminate the struggles of carrying too much in your hands and allows for a more comfortable experience when walking your dog(s). The Gismo can hold any dog leash and the Gismo grip is ergonomically designed to improve comfort and control.I’m Gismo connectables allow the user to ‘customize’ his or her experience and turbo-charge the handle for different activities. Connectable pieces – such as a rechargeable flashlight, poop bag dispenser and full-bag carry clip, training clicker, treat container and dual leash holder – illustrate the product’s true innovative qualities.
In addition, Dog Gone Smart continues to improve existing product lines. For example, the original Dirty Dog Doormat line has recently been redesigned as well.
Nanotechnology
Dog Gone Smart’s success story started with the use of invisible nanotechnology called Repelz-It Nanoprotection in pet products, ten years ago. The technology prevents liquids, dirt and natural oil in a pet’s coat from sticking to fabrics. Unlike other stain-resistant technologies, Repelz-It is highly abrasion resistant and remains functional for years of use. It also uses a safe, state-of-the-art bacteriostatic, which inhibits the spread of certain odour-causing pathogens.
Products using this technology can be machine-washed and dried, though the ‘stay clean’ coating means you won’t have to do it as often. Repelz- It Nanoprotection is not only safe to the environment but also to the end user. The company is not aware of any other fabric finish repellent technology in the pet industry that is both PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS (perflourooctane sulphonate) free.
Dog Gone Smart is always improving on its technologies and staying on the forefront of innovation.
International presence
Currently, the Dog Gone Smart brand is found in over forty countries around the world. “Continuing to expand and strengthen our brand presence is one ofour key goals for 2016,” says CEO, ChrisOnthank.
2016 is especially exciting as the company is pleased to announce the launch of their new Dog Gone Smart company logo. “Our D.GS logo design communicates a highquality, innovative brand identity,” says Onthank. With a strong brand presence around the world, Dog Gone Smart’s abbreviated D.GS logo design will assist in overcoming language barriers that the words ‘Dog Gone Smart’ could not universally convey. The company’s new tagline, ‘Smarter by Design’ signifies the innovative and solution-based product lines offered.
