Pet food exports propel Polish economy
As the world’s fifth-largest exporter of dog and cat food, Poland ships its products to 76 countries, primarily to European countries like Germany and Italy.
Highlighting its economic significance, data from the Polish Economic Institute reveals that in 2022, exports of dog and cat food soared to 1.6 billion euros.
Analysts foresee the Polish pet food market surpassing 2 billion euros by 2025, with an expected annual growth rate of approximately 7%.
Premiumization trend and BIOFEED’s strategy
The trend of premiumization, where consumers prioritize higher quality pet food despite the higher cost, has become a significant factor in purchasing decisions.
In response to these market expectations, BIOFEED has launched a modern factory capable of producing up to 8 tonnes per hour. Its product range includes both budget-friendly options and premium feeds.
Notably, the premium segment now accounts for approximately 20% of the entire Polish pet food market, signalling robust growth and opportunities for manufacturers.
With this production capacity, BIOFEED can adapt quickly to individual orders from business partners and explore private-label concepts, which are increasingly popular in the pet food industry.
Entering the global stage
Polish pet food companies are making their mark on the global stage, regularly attending Interzoo, one of the industry’s premier events.
The latest edition saw over 30 Polish companies participating, marking a notable increase from previous years and highlighting Poland’s growing influence in the global pet food market.
In 2024, BIOFEED will debut at Interzoo with its stand, providing a prime platform to showcase innovative products, forge international partnerships, and expand into new markets.
