Pets at Home has announced its plans to open 4 concept stores in a bid to showcase the group’s omnichannel pet care offerings.
The British company has recently re-launched its new look Brentford pet care center in West London after a £1 million ($1.3M/€1.17M) investment. The location has been expanded from 9,000 sq ft to 14,000 sq ft and is equipped with in-store experiences and specialist services such as a veterinary clinic.
The location also has a dedicated nutrition hub featuring fresh, frozen and raw food options, additional spaces for an assortment of edible products, and a consultation area where pet owners can seek advice according to their pet’s life stage.
In July, the retailer opened another pet center in Hull Anlaby, East Yorkshire. GlobalPETS has learned that Pets at Home plans to open 2 additional locations in Kettering (North Northamptonshire) and New Malden (South West London) later in the year.
Strategic rollout
The concept store program aims to compress the entire Pets at Home ecosystem into one place. The retailer is testing the design across small stores and flagship locations.
“Our investment in Brentford reflects our ongoing commitment to the consumer experience, which will help to inform our future store strategy,” states Pets at Home Chief Consumer Officer Kathryn Imrie.
Pets at Home recently refitted 41 of its existing stores and opened 5 new pet care centers.
