Over 10,000 of the pet retailer’s products are now available on the platform.

Petco recently announced a fulfillment partnership with DoorDash to service same-day delivery and eligible repeat delivery orders across the US using DoorDash marketplace app.

Over 10,000 of the retailer’s products are now available on the fulfillment platform, including food, treats, beds, bowls, toys and other supplies for dogs, cats, small animals, fish, reptiles and birds.

Petco has also updated its app to provide a rounded profile for all pets’ health and wellness needs, from nutrition and vaccinations to grooming appointment reminders.

“Our expanded partnership with DoorDash makes Petco’s differentiated assortment of health and wellness products accessible to even more pet parents across the country,” says Darren MacDonald, Chief Customer Officer at Petco. With the combined with new enhancements to the Petco app, the company is hoping to continue to meet “the unique needs of pets and pet parents in a way that no one else can.”

“Whether it’s the dog food you forgot to grab while out or a treat or toy, consumers [through the Petco partnership] now have convenient on-demand access to pets’ whole health needs,” notes Fuad Hannon, VP of New Verticals at DoorDash. To Fuad, this highlights that the future of commerce is on-demand and local because consumers want faster and easier ways to get items delivered.

California-based Healthy Spot, which offers dog grooming, dog daycare, and community experiences across 20 stores, partnered with DoorDash earlier this year.
