Arcaplanet appoints new top management roles
Nicolò Galante has been named as the new CEO of the Italian company and Alessandro Strati becomes CFO
Galante, a nuclear engineer, worked for 20 years at McKinsey & Company in Milan. In 2016 he joined the Central Group in Bangkok, Thailand, as Group COO. He also held the role of Department Stores CEO and was President of Central Retail Corp (listed in 2020).
“I’m very excited for the opportunity to lead this new phase of growth at Arcaplanet, a company with large potential to innovate the retail space and to play an important social role,” he said.
In addition, new CFO Alessandro Strati joins the management team of Arcaplanet. He worked for 25 years at illy Caffè, where he became CFO. He also performed the role of CFO in Fila and Moleskine and has a wealth of experience in finance, M&A, and capital markets.
The appointments follow the acquisition of Arcaplanet by PE firm Cinven together with Fressnapf Group. As part of the transaction, Arcaplanet will integrate with Fressnap’s Maxi Zoo Italia to create the Arcaplanet Group.
A few weeks ago, the Autorita’ Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato (AGCM) gave the green light to the merger under the condition that the companies will need to sell between 50 and 70 shops to avoid having a “dominant position” in the market.
Arcaplanet said in a statement that they aim to accelerate the multichannel growth of the group both in Italy and in new markets.
