Scrumbles will use most of the capital injection to launch the company’s international debut.
The investment, led by Business Growth Fund (BGF), will also allow the London-based pet food producer to drive the development of its omnichannel business model.
The investment will also support Scrumbles in appointing a new finance director and increasing its marketing to support its ongoing expansion. Mike Brehme will join the board as a non-executive chairman, and BGF’s Daria Polunina will join Scrumbles board as a non-executive director.
CEO Aneisha Soobroyen confirmed to GlobalPETS that the company will debut at Zoomark in May 2023 in Bologna to build its “global footprint.”
Who is Scrumbles?
The natural pet food company was founded in 2018 by Jack Walker and Aneisha Soobroyen, both having significant experience in consumer-packaged goods.
Walker and Soobroyen ventured into the pet food sector when they could not find nutritious food for their pets with digestive problems. This discovery helped them identify the need for nourishing meals containing probiotics to aid gut health and digestion.
Today, Scrumbles provides natural and “gut-friendly” food for cats and dogs through a range of superior natural formulas. Its products are available across all major supermarkets and pet specialty stores, both offline and online.
