The Dutch producer has been awarded as one of the top sustainable pet companies for the third year in a row.
The distinction from the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) awards the policies that the ingredients producer implemented to reduce the environmental impact in 2022.
For the company, this award “provides independent confirmation that Duynie Ingredients is a leader in sustainable pet food ingredients and contributes to sustainable pet food products.”
Duynie Ingredients presents itself as Europe’s leading producer of sustainable plant-based ingredients for the pet food industry, using plant-based co-products in all their ingredients.
These co-products are processed using residual heat from a nearby bioenergy plant in their factory in the Netherlands.
“This results in sustainable pet food ingredients like potato, carrot and other vegetable ingredients which have a lower carbon footprint than conventional alternatives.”
Duynie Ingredients has been a PSC member since 2018 and a PSC Accredited Company since 2019. Furthermore, in 2020 and 2021 it was rated as one of the top 20 most sustainable companies in the pet industry.
