Instinct Pet Food to bring all production processes in house

The raw pet food manufacturer announced an investment of $200 million to create a 200,000-square-foot facility in Nebraska.

The project, called the Center of Excellence, will be divided into two phases. The first will be completed by the end of 2023 and consists of an expansion of the current freeze-drying area.

The second phase will be completed by 2026, with the company expanding its frozen ingredient storage and grinding, mixing and blending operations. It will also bring High Pressure Processing (HPP) technology to the manufacturing process.

The project is designed to be LEED certified, bringing leading sustainability practices into the facility located in the capital city of Lincoln. Chief Operating Officer Bobby Harris claimed that their goal is that the building has a “net zero carbon footprint.”

Instinct Pet Food’s strategy is to focus on bringing all aspects of raw manufacturing under one roof as the production is currently spread across four different locations throughout the city.
