Petco to launch new fresh and frozen food line for dogs

The product, which will be available by the second half of 2022, will be co-created with manufacturer JustFoodForDogs.

The company also announced a “dramatic expansion” of its partnership with JustFoodForDogs to consolidate its leadership position in the premium food category.

The partnership will include expanding its products from the current 700 to more than 1,000 shops this year.

Petco will also continue to be the only national brick-and-mortar retailer to offer products in retail stores and online through 2024, with the potential to extend until 2026.

CEO Ron Coughlin highlighted that pet parents “are rapidly shifting feeding to the fresh frozen category,” which is predicted to grow from $1 billion to approximately $4 billion by 2025.
