Cargill to have new CEO from January

The current COO Brian Sikes will assume the role after serving in the company for more than 3 decades.

Sikes will also assume the function of President and help the company navigate dynamic global markets.

“He’s a person of action and results, with a relentless passion for serving our customers and our people. Brian has the qualities we value in a strong leader—integrity, empathy, resilience, and authenticity. Under his leadership, I am confident the best days for Cargill, and its greatest contributions, lie ahead,” said current CEO Dave MacLennan, who joined the company in 1991.

Brian Sikes created Cargill’s sustainability office and built a culture that prioritizes and celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion. Under his leadership, the feed provider wants to achieve gender parity by 2030. The representation of women on the Executive Team has increased to 46%, according to the company.

MacLennan has been named Executive Chair of the Board and will serve as a “trusted strategic advisor” to the new CEO and support Cargill’s long-term strategic plan.
