Petcare Innovation Summit announces petcare startups finalists
A shortlist of 12 companies that are looking for investment or partnership in pet health, nutrition, and products and services will be showcased at the event taking place on 17-18 May in London.
The start-ups will pitch their innovations followed by questions from the esteemed judging panel to get to the in-depth details of their offering.
The winners will then be selected and announced live at the event, a summit that focuses on showcasing and accelerating disruptive innovation and investment to build a data-driven and sustainable petcare industry.
The finalists are:
Affordable Pet Labs – Affordable Pet Labs is a tech-driven pet care company that provides in-home diagnostics testing for pets. Their distributed teams of veterinary professionals are experts in low-stress sample collection and provide convenient and affordable testing in the home. Affordable Pet Labs provides blood, urine, and fecal testing as well as pet health data and a technology platform in their client app.
Animoscope – Animoscope is a Telehealth service provider for pet owners, specializing on generating and exploiting data. They empower pet owners making the right decision by making complex medical things easy to interpret.
ControlPoint Inc – ControlPoint is a veterinary diagnostics company focused on developing tests that could be used by anyone, anywhere, providing fast results. In 2020 ControlPoint was formed and began to explore the idea of a diagnostics test that could detect multiple pathogens. After doing market research, they identified a market segment in companion animals at the point of care, and decided to work toward developing a test for the detection of Kennel Cough infections.
CUDDLY – CUDDLY is the first dedicated marketplace built for animal welfare groups worldwide. CUDDLY helps give all animals a healthy life and a loving home. They enable animal rescues to create fundraisers and wishlists to support animals in their care. Through CUDDLY, animal lovers can purchase and give in a modern, transparent way.
HiPets – HiPets are building a pet super-app, starting from bookings for services. This allows vets and other professionals to schedule their work efficiently and smoothly. They are building the very first symptom checker in-built in booking process.
InterPets – InterPets aim at protecting the lives of pets, bringing peace of mind to their parents and helping them improve as pet parents in. Remotely monitor and translate animal behaviours to reduce misunderstandings, parents’ stress, and detect early signs of disease. Their business model: B2C monthly subscription, B2B2C through in-app product recommendations.
petgood ab – A Swedish company on a mission to create a more sustainable and transparent pet world, where dogs can enjoy nutritious food and treats without burdening our planet. They offer complete and balanced diets for both adult dogs and puppies, as well as dental sticks, treats and 100% plant-based poop bags. The products are developed by their lead vet based on the latest science and research. The dogs’ health is always their top priority, using high-quality and sustainable protein from the insect black soldier fly, and natural and carefully selected ingredients.
Screws – Schews are a brand new organic, vegan, sustainable dog dental chew product developer and manufacturer. They have created four schews: schilettos, schneakers, schliders and schlippers for your dogs to enjoy as a treat but also for important dental benefits.
THE PACK – THE PACK are revolutionising dog food one bowl at a time with highly nutritious and innovative plant-based recipes. Food that’s not only better for dogs and their health, but better for the planet too. They are becoming a leader in the rapidly expanding space of health & planet-conscious pet foods.
Tuft – The UK’s first app to close the customer journey between grooming services and their clients with a beautifully seamless app and dashboard integration. Groomers can manage their calendar whilst pet owners can manage their appointments cutting down on admin time and opening vast opportunities to be the first brand to dominate this space.
VetChef – VetChef is on a mission to make healthy nutrition easy for pet parents, with a range of products and tools designed to help manage every pet’s diet. The My VetChef app makes it easy to manage your pet’s nutrition, with bespoke home-cooking recipes, commercial food recommendations, a weight management platform, and expert support for dogs with clinical health issues.
Wild for Dogs – After 12 years working in human skincare, founder Laura Sarao was shocked by the poor ingredients and lack of regulation in the dog grooming industry. Aware of the huge growth in the organic, vegan, and sustainable cosmetics market, she seized the opportunity to apply those same principles to the booming dog market. The result?
