Save Pets of Ukraine has rescued 160,000 animals since the start of the war

The initiative delivered 650 tons of food for dogs and cats and raised more than €1 million.

Founded by pet food manufacturer Kormotech, the group has developed a global aid network to rescue more animals faster.

During more than 200 days of the invasion, it built a network of volunteer coordination centers in every Ukrainian region except for temporarily controlled territories.

Save Pets of Ukraine received more than 22,000 requests from Ukrainian pet owners, animal shelters, and volunteers and collected donations worth UAH45.9 million (€1.29M) through the public non-profit organization Hearts Foundation.

650 tons of food

The organization delivered more than 650 tons of food for dogs and cats. Animal immunization, veterinary care, and rabies vaccinations were also given in Kyiv and Kharkiv, some of the most affected regions.

The initiative now focuses on helping shelters and animal volunteers, who are the main supporters of abandoned pets in Ukraine. The group intends to help reduce the number of abandoned pets and encourage adoption.

“Now we are working in disaster mode, distributing food and medicines. However, we all have to do our best, so every animal has its own caregiver. The goal of the initiative is to help every animal to find a loving family,” said Kateryna Kovaliuk, coordinator of Save Pets of Ukraine.
