These pet players are expanding their reach through retail partnerships

Pet brands are increasingly partnering with distribution companies to increase their product reach and tap into new markets.

From supplements to premium pet food and accessories, several brands are collaborating with retailers to expand their presence in new markets. GlobalPETS rounds up the latest developments.

Native Pet

The American pet supplement brand has entered a distribution partnership with PetSmart to expand the availability of its top-selling products, including its recently launched Hip + Joint Air-Dried Chews. These products will be available in 1,500 PetSmart stores nationwide and through the retailer’s e-commerce platform.

The partnership aligns with PetSmart’s commitment to bringing the “next generation of supplements” to the market, featuring innovative formulas, formats, ingredients and packaging.

Petcurean

The Canadian pet food manufacturer has finalized a distribution agreement with Pet Food Experts (PFX). Starting mid-October, the brand’s products will be available in all major PFX regions in the US, including the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Ohio Valley, Midwest, Pacific Northwest and West Coast.

“Petcurean’s precision, high fill rates and superior customer service make them an invaluable asset to our strategic framework,” comments Sean Kent, PFX’s Vice President.

The Bear & The Rat

The Colorado-headquartered frozen dog treats and topper brand has secured a distribution partnership with Petco, which will feature the company’s products across 1,100 locations in the US.

“Getting into Petco freezers has been a goal for us since we launched,” says co-founder Meg Meyer. “Petco’s reach as a national retailer is powerful, and we’re proud to partner with them.”

Woof

Canadian distributor Manchester Pet Supplies has partnered with American pet product manufacturer Woof to extend the brand’s reach across Eastern Canada. Woof’s premium offerings include dog treats, toys and treat trays.

CANOPHERA

The dog chew producer has teamed up with the American Distribution and Manufacturing Company (ADMC) to expand its reach across 18 US states. CANOPHERA’s product lineup includes chews made from coffee wood, sheep horns, red deer antlers and briar roots.

Skout’s Honor

In the UK, the pet specialty brand Skout’s Honor is expanding its presence by partnering with Pets at Home. Skout’s Honor’s best-selling products – including probiotic grooming solutions, wellness skincare and plant-powered stain and odor removers – will now be available in 457 Pets at Home locations.
