VetVerifi secures $1.5 million from investors, including Mars
The Tennessee-based pet tech start-up wants to bring pet medical records under a single platform.
Different investors participated in the pre-seed funding round, including Mars joint-venture capital fund Digitalis. The company says 4 CEOs of undisclosed pet care, veterinary and technology firms also participated.
With the fresh $1.5 million (€1.4M), VetVerifi aims to fuel its product development efforts, specifically focusing on increasing its partner integrations and data connectivity.
It also plans to double down on product and customer operations and increase customer acquisition in the pet services and veterinary clinic markets.
State of the business
Co-Founder and Partner David Servodidio tells GlobalPETS that the platform has been “selectively commercialized” in particular metro areas and with specific customer types. The response has been “encouraging” so far, particularly from pet service enterprises such as dog groomers, boarders, daycares, pet sitters, walkers and trainers.
Looking ahead, the company wants to expand its product capabilities and verification types into other markets, such as tenant application screening and pet-friendly housing.
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, VetVerifi operates an API-led technology solution that offers “instant, verified” pet vaccination records and medical history. This enables better connectivity between vets and their ecosystem partners, such as pet service providers.
