Zooplus CEO Cornelius Patt to step down after 16 years of being at the helm

Patt, who co-founded the online retailer in 1999, will leave the company after a transition year.

According to the Munich-based company, the resignation has been mutually agreed with the Supervisory Board.

“Until the successor is in office he will continue to assume his duties to ensure a smooth transition and help initiate the company’s upcoming phase of transformation and accelerated growth,” it said.

Stefan Goetz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at zooplus said that Patt will leave “an incredible legacy” after more than two decades of “determination, visionary leadership and commitment.”

“Taking the company from inception to pan-European market leadership now serving almost 10 million pet parents has been my pleasure and privilege – I am particularly grateful to the zooplus family, for their exemplary commitment, skill, passion and team spirit,” highlighted Patt. 

The company also announced 2 new members to its Supervisory Board: Kate Swann (former CEO of WH Smith) and Stefan F. Heidenreich (former CEO of Beiersdorf).
