Fressnapf’s acquisition of Italian pet retailer Arcaplanet will almost immediately affect the retailer’s management structure.
“We can look back with pride on what we have achieved together over the past 4 years. Fressnapf has become more digital, more innovative and better. The next stage of the transformation marks a completely new chapter in Fressnapf’s history. This requires new faces and a new dynamic,” admits Fressnapf’s Founder and Owner, Torsten Toeller
Toeller will retain a majority stake in the company and remain Chairman of the Board.
Current CEO Dr. Johannes Steegmann, who has played a critical role in developing Fressnapf’s omnichannel ecosystem, will leave the company this summer. “We’ve made terrific progress, and the biggest transformation in our company’s history is going well,” Steegmann said in an interview with GlobalPETS in 2023.
Former Pets at Home CEO Peter Pritchard – who has been Chairman of Arcaplanet since 2022 – will serve as interim CEO. “I have worked with Fressnapf for many years, and I am very much looking forward to working with Torsten, Cinven and the Fressnapf team to build the best pet supplies retailer in the world and unleash the full potential of Fressnapf,” Pritchard says.
