Pet care companies are spreading across North America with bigger developments planned for this year. GlobalPETS compiles a list of the latest US grooming and training sector expansions.
Zoom Room
The California-based franchise, which has over 70 locations nationwide, aims for 25 additional openings in 2024. The business is known for its indoor gym, customized training, puppy socialization, obedience training and advanced agility skill development.
In the first half of 2024, Zoom Room opened 10 new locations and reported a 19% year-on-year sales increase driven by innovative training methods and high market demand.
16 of the new openings debuted in locations like Arizona, Virginia, Florida, Minnesota, Connecticut and Oregon. Zoom Room has a strong presence in Southern Florida, Southern California, Dallas, Phoenix, Portland and Seattle.
“We’re also seeing increased interest in US markets like Austin, Houston, Charlotte, Northern Virginia and the San Francisco Bay Area, with an emerging interest in areas like Atlanta, New York City, Chicago metro and Denver,” the company’s Chief Growth Officer Herb Heiserman tells GlobalPETS.
He adds that the business leases out franchises to retired school teachers, technology professionals, marketing executives and experienced business and franchise owners “to bring a broad range of expertise to each location.”
Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming
The pet grooming firm is making its debut in California with 2 new stores in Evergreen and Sacramento. This follows its recent expansions into Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee earlier this year.
Additionally, Woof Gang aims to expand its network across North America, with plans to add 30 stores to its franchise over the next 3 years. By year-end, it plans to open locations in Idaho, Arizona and Minnesota.
“Woof Gang has expanded rapidly, with over 400 locations open or in development across North America,” says company CEO Ricardo Azevedo.
The company also aims to expand its footprint to Canada in the near future, with the opening of 3 additional stores in the Greater Toronto Area.
