By 2023, the global nutrition company will add a third line of dry feed for dogs and cats in their Guadalajara facility.
The new line of pet feed production will triple the company’s production capabilities in the state of Jalisco, where ADM has three additional facilities and a new distribution center.
“The new line of pet feed production will bring state-of-the-art technology that will be environmentally friendly as it will consume less water, gas, and electricity,” Carlos Posadas, Vice President of Pet Solutions for North Latin America, told GlobalPETS.
The new production will be flexible as they will be able to produce their range of formulas for dogs and cats, from standard to super-premium. The line enables 109 finished product presentations, and the company expects to be ready with its new production by early next year.
“The investment in the Guadalajara facility is in response to the expanding success of ADM pet food brands. Our pet food is high in nutritional content and features innovative flavors, and when combined with the attractive campaigns launched by our brands, our positioning has improved to reach second place in this category,” added Posadas.
The expanded production capabilities will serve the markets in the north of the country and reach Colombia, where ADM has recently entered and become a key market for the company.
Euromonitor forecasts that the market for pet food and treats in Latin America will increase by 13% by 2026.
