Pet Network welcomes ex-Musti’s Matti Salmi to the management board
The Croatian retailer, which operates more than 140 stores in the region, seeks to reinforce its market-leading position in South-Eastern Europe.
The industry veteran is moving from the Scandinavian pet retailer to take up the position of Chief Procurement Officer in the group’s Management Board from next fall.
Salmi will be responsible for the group purchasing and assortment development across all the countries where the Zagreb-based company is operating.
CEO Timo Tervo said that the company is in an “interesting growth phase as we expand our retail networks in all markets and reinforce our market-leading position.”
“Mr. Salmi is an industry professional with a demonstrated successful track record who will strengthen our team,” he claimed.
Matti Salmi has an extensive professional background career in the retailing sector. He served as Purchasing Director at Musti for 6 years before being promoted to Chief Procurement Officer last February. Prior to Musti, he worked for many years at Oy Hong Kong Import in numerous positions.
Pet Network International operates in more than 140 pet stores across South-Eastern Europe, mainly through Maxi Pet (Romania and Bulgaria), Pet Centar (Croatia and Serbia), Ani Max (Romania) and Mr. Pet (Slovenia). The retailer also serves around 500,000 customers annually on its online channel.
