The American company, owned by the Target department store chain, will deliver pet products from 1,300 pet stores nationwide.
The partnership will allow access to the delivery of pet food, supplies, and accessories to consumers across the country.
Cherise Ordlock, Senior Vice President of Digital at PetSmart, said that same-day delivery is a “key component” of the retailer’s omnichannel strategy. “It is important to expand our e-commerce offerings as demand for convenient shopping options continues to grow,” she said.
“We know, from PetSmart’s recent data, that this holiday season, over half of pet parents plan to spend more time shopping for pets than some of their own family members. We’re excited to partner with PetSmart to ensure pet parents get all the gifts they need in time for the holidays and beyond,” said Rina Hurst, Shipt’s Chief Business Officer.
According to a new survey from PetSmart, 87% of respondents intend to carve out special time to bond with their pets, and 82% say it doesn’t feel like the holiday season without their pets by their side.
Shipt will also work with PetSmart in a multi-channel marketing campaign.
