The British vegan pet food startup will launch a healthy oven-baked dried food line.
The alt-protein pet food company secured £835,000 (€942,000) in a seed funding round with participation from Scelta Mycofriends BV, Veg Capital, Kale United, Akoleo, and several angel investors.
The company plans to launch a new oven-baked dried food product in Spring 2023. It also expects to expand business in Europe in the coming months, specifically in the Benelux and Nordics. The Pack is also in conversations with distributors in Asia.
Another round of funding is in the planning stage for the second half of the year, the company said.
The fundraising was held privately through the vegan investment platform Vevolution, founded by The Pack Founders Damien Clarkson and Judy Nadel in 2017.
The Pack entered the pet food industry by introducing its plant-based protein stew wet food for dogs, which it claims is the first of its kind worldwide. Clarkson stated that their goal is to “focus on creating highly palatable premium products with functional ingredients while endeavoring to offer consumers a price competitive with meat-based food.”
