The $30 million facility will manufacture probiotics and postbiotics for human and pet nutrition.
The American food processing company has set up a new production facility in Valencia to meet the rising global demand for probiotics, postbiotics, and other products.
The production facility represents an investment of more than $30 million (€28.5M) and an over 5-fold increase in ADM’s manufacturing capacity, raising it to 50 tons a year.
The facility, which claims to be the world’s first to produce both probiotics and postbiotics at the same venue, will supply North America, EMEA, and APAC regions.
The new factory sits close to ADM’s research and development center at the University of Valencia Scientific Park.
ADM said it is on its way to achieving its ambition to boost the company’s health and wellness income from over $500 million (€467M) in 2022 to $2 billion (€1.87B) in the next 10 years. The company’s animal nutrition portfolio decreased by $16 million ($14.9M) in 2022.
