Pioneer wholesaler

From the start ALT was a pioneer, bringing premium pet nutrition to the Middle East along with veterinary diets. Over the years it has grown into the largest wholesaler in the region, representing dozens of internationally renowned brands of food, snacks and accessories. Besides delivering to buyers in the UAE, it also supplies all GCC countries, selling to channels such as vets, kennels, shops, breeders and government institutions.

Premium products to delight pets

In 2005, ALT decided to move into pet retail with its own concept called Pet’s Delight. It was the first shop in the region to offer a wide range of premium pet food as well as pet accessories. And it refused to sell cats and dogs. Today, there are nine Pet’s Delight shops in convenient locations at the heart of key residential communities across the UAE.

Substantial online market share

The company set up an online community in 2014 which makes use of a handy app, and this contributed to it gaining a substantial share of the online market. The platform, with its same or next day delivery, and the pet shops with their additional services such as a dedicated nutritionist, provide excellent customer care. The fully integrated omni-channel links customer loyalty points between all customer touch points.

Going green

The company’s strong ethical values mean that it only sells items that match its ethos. In line with this, it also donates food to animal shelters.

In the current climate of increased sustainability, Pet’s Delight is the only company in the UAE pet industry that is trying to do its part by going ‘green’. With the ‘Bags for Life’ programme, it is encouraging its clients to select re-usable bags and also to ‘opt out’ of receiving home deliveries in plastic bags. On top of that, it is including more and more organic and sustainable pet products in its assortment.
