The Austrian Society for Consumer Studies (ÖGVS) recently announced the country’s top companies in 10 categories in the retail and services sector.
Under the Home & Living segment, Food Bowl won the top place in the ‘Pet Supplies (chain store)’ category, bagging the highest score for customer satisfaction (8.04).
For the ‘Pet Supplies (online shops)’ category, Fressnapf, Zooplus, Koelle-Zoo and ZooRoyal all vied for the top position.
Fressnapf was the top choice for overall customer satisfaction (scoring 7.98 out of 10), followed by Zooplus (7.9) and Koelle-Zoo (7.49).
Furthermore, Zooplus and Fressnapf were the top 2 choices for customer service and price performance, while Koelle-Zoo came in third for customer service. ZooRoyal was the third best for price-performance.
Raw pet food
In the raw food category, Foggis, located in the Styria region in southern Austria, was the best-performing brand for customer satisfaction (7.76) and second best for customer service (7.68).
Loys was the highest ranked for its customer service (7.77) and third highest for price performance (7.51).
Vienna-based Hundefeinkostladen was the highest ranked for price performance (7.57) and third for customer service (7.52).
German raw pet food supplier Haustierkost ranked second for both customer satisfaction and price performance (7.52 and 7.53).
Top companies
ÖGVS’s list includes the top 300 companies out of the 1,986 surveyed, ranked by their performance ratios across the 3 aforementioned indexes.
In this list, key pet retailer mentions include Zooplus, which ranked highest for its customer service at number 10. Fressnapf ranked highest at 32 for customer satisfaction, while Food Bowl ranked the highest for its price performance at number 31.
Out of the raw food and raw pet dood producers and suppliers, Hundefeinkostladen ranked 35th, Haustierkost ranked 55th and Berlin-based Barfer’s ranked 249th for price performance. When it came to customer service, Loys ranked 50th and Foggis ranked 65th.
More than 450,000 consumers gave their opinions on the 1,986 retail and service providers from 181 industries operating in Austria.
