Probiotic pet food

Bacterfield was established in 2006 with the sole purpose of creating probiotic pet food. Since 2009, the company has worked with numerous international specialists to develop a unique and revolutionary range of functional pet food. The company has specialized inthe beneficial effects of probiotics, and created a new category in pet food for dogs and cats: ProBiotic LIVE.

New category of pet food

The range of probiotic products is the first pet food containing live bacteria. The production of the ProBiotic LIVE range is based on patent EP 2124607 – Pet Food, and according to Bacterfield no other company has a technology with similar efficacy. The company’s unique technology allows them to keep the bacteria viable throughout a product’s shelf life.

Why probiotics?

Probiotics have proven health benefits and are already well established in human product categories. When used on a daily basis, they improve digestion and overall wellbeing, and reduce stress symptoms. Probiotic bacteria are microorganisms that colonize the immature gut or re-establish the disrupted gut flora, thus promoting the mechanism of defence against potential pathogenic bacteria. The feed contains the probiotic microorganism Enterococcus faecium, which is sourced from an internationally recognized culture collection, known as NCIMB.
