British startup secures €560,000 in pre-seed round
Tuggs aims to use the funds to add new recipes to its product offering and release a new range of dog treats.
Claiming to be the first in the UK to create fresh dog food made with insects, London-based Tuggs is currently finalizing a £500,000 pre-seed raise.
Tuggs will also use the funds to improve its platform by integrating further aspects of pet wellness into its service.
The producer uses a proprietary algorithm and subscription service that allows dog parents to enjoy personalized health plans for their companions. This service includes tailored meals that help them hit their ideal weight.
“It took us over 2 years of research and development to be able to make such a product due to the complexities of integrating insects into a fresh product,” Founder Harry Bremner told GlobalPETS.
The company only operates in the UK, and according to Bremner, they are not ruling out plans to expand to other markets. “We’ve already had requests to sell to foreign markets due to the uniqueness of our product,” he said.
