Looking at things from a different perspective and tackling problems in another way, so as not to stagnate, are deeply rooted in the culture of the German aquatics company Dennerle.
Well-functioning water worlds
The Dennerle company just celebrated its 50th anniversary and can look back on a long history of developments. It was Ludwig Dennerle’s love of fishkeeping and his fascination with water plants that inspired him to found the company. Today, the company’s portfolio comprises sophisticated systems for well-functioning water worlds in the aquarium plants, aquarium accessories and pond care segments. With approximately 10,000 square metres of greenhouses in its sister farm in Sri Lanka, which has been co-operating with the company for more than 30 years, Dennerle delivers an average of approximately 100,000 plants per week, making it the largest aquarium plants nursery in Europe. Today, they not only supply aquarium plants in classic pots, but also the meristem plants range “Plant-It”.
The company has been solely distributing its own products since the early 1980s. One of the biggest successes of recent years was the introduction of the nano aquarium range in 2008. Today, Dennerle is the market leader in this product segment in several European markets. In the accessories segment, the biggest emphasis has been on developing and producing in Germany as far as possible.
Innovative LED lighting
A very good example in this context is TROCAL aquarium lighting. The T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes were far ahead of their time and are still among the best products of this type that the market has to offer. Last year, the TROCAL range was supplemented by innovative LED lighting for freshwater and seawater aquariums. This compact LED range – including retrofitable light colour control – was developed in co-operation with the German technology company GHL.
In a dynamic market segment such as aquatics, it is essential to remain creative and innovative. With a view to the future, Dennerle continues to focus on a concept-driven approach, and particularly on all-round systems for aquariums. At the international level, this still-expanding company is known for the outstanding quality of its comprehensive product range.
