The Netherlands, Denmark, and Finland saw prices of pet products increase by more than 14% in 2022.
New data from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) revealed that pet supply prices increased by 14.6% from January to December 2022.
December accounted for the highest monthly inflation rate with 3.3%, while in February, costs dropped by 1.7% in the category.
According to data released by Statistics Finland, prices for pet products jumped by 14.1% over the 12 months of 2022. Inflation in the category peaked in October at 5.6%, while March registered the lowest at 0.1%.
A similar trend was seen in Denmark, where pet product prices jumped 14.1% in 2022. According to Statistics Denmark, July showed the highest price increase (3.5%), while August prices dropped by 1.7%.
In the UK, pet product prices rose by 13.3% in 2022. The US recorded a 12% increase, its biggest-ever price hike in pet supplies.
