The European Pet Food Industry Federation (FEDIAF) has appointed Sonia Franck (Verviers, Belgium) as the association’s new Secretary General.
Before her appointment, Franck served as a Member of the Head of National Trade Associations & National Campaign Implementation Committees at the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
Other relevant roles include her time as Secretary General at Innovative Medicines Luxembourg (IML), a private research-based association for the pharmaceutical industry that represents 64 global companies.
She was also President of the government-backed Luxembourg Medicines Verification Organisation (LMVO), which is responsible for implementing and managing the country’s drug verification system.
Promoting the highest standards
Franck says that her main focus will be to support FEDIAF’s mission of “promoting the highest standards of pet nutrition, safety and welfare across Europe.”
“I am eager to collaborate with FEDIAF’s member associations, industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to advocate for responsible pet food production and distribution practices,” she adds.
The new Secretary General further notes that she is committed to upholding the organization’s values and priorities and “driving positive change within the industry.”
For FEDIAF’s President Rosa Carbonell, Sonia’s professional experience “will be instrumental” for the body and its collaboration with authorities, regulators and academics “to ensure Europeans have continued access to safe, nutritious and high-quality pet food.”
