French hypermarket offers private label dry food through a vending machine
Consumers can get their order 24/7 through a container vending machine in the parking lot.
The container offers dry kibble for both dogs and (sterilized) cats, produced by pet food company Sopral.
Customers can help themselves with their own bag or bucket. Payment is done by credit card.
Pricing
Bulk kibble is displayed at € 2.45 / kg for dogs and € 2.95 for cats, which is about 25% and 18% cheaper, respectively, compared to 2 kg bags sold in-store.
LeClerc will soon launch a range of containers dedicated to its bulk range in the petfood section.
