Fressnapf has announced that it will discontinue the circulation of printed leaflets in Germany from next month due to their “very limited” use.
Advertising brochures, which were used to disseminate information about discount campaigns to offline customers, will soon be replaced by digital newsletters, WhatsApp messages, and alerts in the retailer’s app.
“In the stores operated by Fressnapf in Germany, we already successfully implemented the digitalization of the flyer (including via our app) at the beginning of the year. These digital offers have been very well received,” a company spokesperson shares with GlobalPETS.
Strengthening loyalty program
Discontinuing the leaflets will also enable the company to strengthen its customer loyalty program, ‘Friends.’ According to Fressnapf, the app will display special “Friends-prices” in its Austrian and German stores beginning this June.
The retailer refreshed its logo earlier last month and shared plans to enhance its omnichannel approach.
