The new partnership with Zurich-based multinational DKSH is expected to push the firm’s portfolio in the Southeast Asian country.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition Asia has entered into a strategic partnership with DKSH, appointing the Swiss company as the official distributor for its cat and dog prescription and science diet lines in Malaysia.
The American pet food producer will expand its retail market presence and product visibility by using DKSH’s extensive distribution network in the country, which has been present since 1923.
The logistics company says it will also handle sales, merchandising, distribution and logistics, credit and collection and field marketing services.
DKSH notes to GlobalPETS that the rising demand for pet food in Malaysia and a noticeable surge in interest in premium cat and dog food were the main reasons that pushed the partnership.
“By harnessing DKSH’s robust distribution capabilities and Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s exceptional pet food offerings, we are confident in our ability to drive market penetration and reach a wider audience of pet owners,” says Puneet Mishra, Head of Country Management and Vice President, FMCG, DKSH Malaysia.
