The German retailer will open a new office in Budapest at the end of October to design and implement its regional offline and online strategy.
Fressnapf values the “central position” of Hungary and the “great potential” for bringing new talent and skills on board.
With 150 “skilled staff,” the center will support corporate and country organizations, mainly in finance and accounting. “Thanks to its central position at the heart of Europe, it will also be our starting point for further expansion into Eastern Europe,” a spokesperson told GlobalPETS.
The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement that this is an “important step” and shows the confidence of foreign companies in the country.
The German retailer, that has operated in Hungary since 2002, recently opened 14 new stores in Romania and aims to reach 100 shops nationwide in the “long term.” The company also took over 11 Super Zoo locations in Romania and 4 in Croatia.
