Inspired Pet Nutrition (IPN) tells GlobalPETS it will grow capacity at its Kinmel facility in Wales to meet growing demand for its wet tray products.
At its main location in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, the company intends to invest in its factory to increase its supply chain and cost visibility, pursue its sustainability agenda, and ensure it uses the best quality ingredients.
“We want to believe fresh human-grade quality ingredients are driving the future of pet food, and the quality of our products in terms of healthy, tasty, digestible nutrition is at the heart of everything we do,” says IPN’s Chief Operating Officer Anthony Stones in a conversation with GlobalPETS.
“We can also pursue our sustainability agenda by using local, low miles food ingredients wherever possible, and it gives us more visibility on cost, which helps enable us to ensure we are offering the best possible quality for a particular price point,” he adds.
Increase the quality of products
Through the investment in its facilities, the company hopes to increase the quality of its existing products and bring new products to the market, following what it calls the “trend of humanization” seen among pets and their owners.
The British pet food manufacturer is celebrating a century of being in business, and just last month, announced it had reached a milestone sales revenue figure of £200 million ($253.8M/€233.3M) in 2023.
Looking ahead, the company aims to target “at least” £500 million ($633.8M/€582.9M) in sales within the next 5 years and is looking to become one of the big 3 UK pet food manufacturers.
