The South African manufacturer will merge 3 existing plants into one dry food facility.
The new 21,600 square meter factory will be in Centurion, just 20 km from the capital Pretoria. The new facility is expected to double the current production capacity.
The factory will focus on producing Montego’s Monty & Me Essential dog food range and other products for contract clients.
Montego Pet Nutrition wants to consolidate 3 existing facilities into one plant, including its hub in Rosslyn, for production, storage, distribution, and administration.
“The decision to combine all 3 sites into one plant is a significant move for us. This means better customer service, an increase in production, and more opportunities for our staff,” said Marco van Jaarsveld, Operations Director at Montego Pet Nutrition.
The company built a new fully operational warehouse and distribution center on the premises to increase service delivery to customers while reducing costs and cutting delivery time by 20%.
