The executive body of the pet company assumed new distribution of responsibilities anticipating the company’s growth plans.
Dr. Stephanie Cossmann will take on the human resources and legal department duties. Cossmann was a member of the executive board and head of HR at the chemical firm Lanxess. She oversaw the group’s human resources, legal, and compliance, as well as the firm’s leather business. She has a doctorate in law.
Dr. Jörn Andreas is promoted to head the Scent & Care segment, which includes the Aroma Molecules, Cosmetic Ingredients, and Fragrances units. The division was temporarily under the care of CEO Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram.
Andreas previously led the Cosmetic Ingredients division at Symrise as global president. Prior to joining the company, he held several leadership positions. He was responsible for a few merger and acquisition projects and strategic initiatives, including a stint with the Swedish probiotic food supplement brand Probi.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), an Executive MSc in Finance from HEC Paris, and an MBA from Tsinghua University (Beijing).
New responsibilities
Furthermore, CFO Olaf Klinger will now manage the company’s global IT in addition to his Finance and Investor Relations responsibilities. Klinger has been with the company since January 2016.
Jean-Yves Parisot will continue as an executive board member for the Taste, Nutrition, and Health department. The Food & Beverage and Pet Food divisions and the Business Incubation Group are now under his care.
Michael König, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Symrise, said: “By expanding the executive board, we are sending an important signal for the further growth course of Symrise.” The new distribution of responsibilities for the executive board starts on 1 February 2023.
The company recently released its preliminary results for 2022, reporting a growth of 11.4% and a 20% increase in net income.
