By a letter dated March 12th, Rosselkhoznadzor (RSN) reported that due to the detection of undeclared unregistered GMO components in milk substitute produced by Leches Maternize DAS (Spain), the import of products made by the above mentioned enterprise to Russia is prohibited as of March 22, 2021.
Moreover, due to the fact that undeclared unregistered GMO components were repeatedly identified in the products made by Spanish enterprises, the RSN requires the Spanish Veterinary Service to suspend the shipment of animal food and food supplements to the Russian Federation as of March 22, 2021.
A number of major distributors in Russia import private label pet food from Spain or brands manufactures there. Over 25 companies will significantly lose sales while the following brands are âon stopâ: Amity, Amanova, Advance, Avantis, AATU, Babin, Banters, Brekkies, Bravery, Cunipic, Dibag, Go!, Gosbi, Landor, Natural Greatness, Nature, Ownat, Pylkron, Platinum, Royal Farm and many others.
Earlier this year supplies from the United States were suspended, and the Netherlands are banned since July, 2020.
