The new facility is expected to increase capabilities across the southeast.
US retailer Pet Supplies Plus has expanded its distribution power by inaugurating a 534,700-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
The opening arrives after the company announced an investment of $54 million (€50M) in 2022 to expand the distribution network southeastwards.
The company said the facility would service Pet Supplies Plus and Wag N’ Wash stores by supplementing consumer demands in retail locations in over 42 states.
“While we grow [nationally], we prioritize being engrained in each community we’re part of. This will remain evident with the distribution center as we provide hundreds of jobs to those in South Carolina,” said President and CEO Chris Rowland.
The new facility is the company’s fourth distribution center and is expected to create 275 jobs. It is also the second full-service distribution center nationwide.
