The pet retailer recently inaugurated its 150th Super zoo store in the Czech Republic and plans to open 10 more by the end of the year.
Located in Ústí nad Labem, 90 km north of the capital Prague, the shop encompasses 500 square meters and it also sells live animals such as aquarium fishes, terrarium animals, birds and small animals.
Besides the Czech Republic, Plaček operates 68 Super zoo stores in Slovakia and five in Romania.
Earlier in June, the company added a new 400-square-meter store in Croatia and plans to open a second store in Velika Gorica in Zagreb County in October. Within the next five years, the retailer plans to open at least 20 Super zoo additional stores in the country.
Plaček also operates 63 Kakadu branches in Poland and 45 Dino Zoo stores in Latvia.
In addition to expanding its stores, the retailer also plans to grow the distribution of products from its own brands. A company spokesperson told GlobalPETS that they are looking for partners around the world to export their brands to independent-retailer distribution channels.
