ProCeres enriches raw materials and processed residual flows from the food industry into high-quality, innovative ingredients for the pet food industry.
One of their latest innovations is Petggie Corn, a premium grain product for premium pet food. This product came out on top in a recent test about viscosity and adhesive strength and comparative research on starch digestion rate.
Comparative test of viscosity and adhesive strength
Viscosity plays an important role in the adhesion and tensile strength of pellets. The degree of viscosity is also extremely important for cold-pressed feed manufactured at temperatures between 25°C and 40°C. Recent research (figure 1) indicates that Petggie Corn has a much better viscosity at 25°C and 30°C compared to the most used alternative in the market.

Comparative research on starch digestion rate
ProCeres specialises in optimising the grain digestion rate, such as the corn used for Petggie Corn. Thanks to this special process, and the right combination of heat, moisture, and pressure, it’s ensured that the starch in the grain reaches the optimal degree of digestion.
Because of this high-quality process, the nutritional values of Petggie Corn are optimally preserved and the grains are easily digestible. Here too, recent research shows that the starch digestion rate for Petggie Corn is higher than the most widely used alternative in the market (figure 2).
