The German pet retailer released a statement saying that its decision to rebrand stores in the western part of Switzerland stemmed from the aim to “strengthen the brand and unify recognition and the shopping experience for customers and pet owners.”
“This strategic decision reflects our ambition to create a clear and consistent brand identity throughout Switzerland,” says Hermann Aigner, CEO of Fressnapf Switzerland. “Our customers can continue to expect the usual quality, selection and expertise that characterize Fressnapf.”
All affected stores will be converted to the new brand by 29 February 2024.
Fressnapf has 67 stores in Switzerland and plans to reach 85 by 2026. “Because Fressnapf is already a strong market leader in Germany and Austria, we intend to drive more expansion in Switzerland with a relatively bigger number of store openings,” says CEO Johannes Steegmann in a recent interview with GlobalPETS.
Fressnapf recently announced it hit €4 billion in turnover in 2023, with its international business growing by 19%.
