Trend forecast 2016
Five main fashion trends: global tribe, iconic earth, safari, denim, and the return of tweed
The time of individuality has reached its turning point and the desire for coherency and cross-pollination has become more visible. This need for unity is not only apparent in fashion and interior design, but also in food design, because ‘food brings people together’.
Neutral tones on the one hand and authentic prints with cultural roots on the other give us exciting combinations.
Quality over quantity still rings true for designers. Sustainable and natural materials are being used in many designs and our sense of responsibility for the earth and the people who manufacture our clothes continues to grow in a positive way.
This feeling of responsibility is also reflected in so-called social design. A movement that develops designs that interact with and are responsive to customers. The designs apply to the social, medical or environmental needs of customers and are mostly sustainable in both manufacture and use.
The keywords for the 2016 trends are unity, roots, iconic and exploration, translated into five main fashion trends.
