Şadanlar Pet is scaling production capacity for its private label brand.
Turkish pet food producer and distributor Şadanlar Pet has confirmed to GlobalPETS an investment of $13 million (€12.1M) in a new factory, Troya Petfood.
Located in the Ezine Gıda organized industrial zone in Canakkale, the factory produces premium dog and cat food for its private label, Dr. Sacchi.
The production facility will have an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons and is spread across 12,900 sqm with a total surface of about 4,400 sqm. It is conveniently located 200 kilometers from the borders of Greece and Bulgaria.
The plant is set up with manufacturing equipment from Wenger USA and Yemmak Turkey, allegedly making it “the first production facility of this type to comply with both US and EU standards.”
The unit is expected to create 100 jobs in the first investment phase and more upon reaching full capacity.
Şadanlar Pet has been a key pet food distributor in the Turkish market since 1987, distributing Canadian Champion Petfood’s Acana and Orijen products and German company Gimborn’s cat and dog food.
