Nieuwkoop-based De Haan Petfood has specialized in producing and exporting wet cat and dog food for over 6 decades, a substantial expertise that is expected to be shared at an operational level with United Petfood.
“The takeover of De Haan Petfood opens up new avenues in terms of wet food and enables us to keep up with growing demand,” a spokesperson of United Petfood tells GlobalPETS.
The Belgian manufacturer believes that the acquisition presents “new opportunities and new innovations” to offer to their existing customers.
Following the takeover, Eddy Nijhof will remain in his position as the company’s Managing Director.
In 2022, United Petfood acquired British manufacturer Gold Line Feeds and a factory from Neodis Group in Southwest France.
