Veterinary telemedicine marketplace Vetster raises  million in funding round

Online pet pharmacy PetMed joined as an investor and strategic partner of the Toronto-based company.

The new Series B fund, led by Kensington Private Equity Fund, brings Vetster’s total investment to $40 million (€37.9M) since its launch in November 2020.

PetMeds is now the exclusive e-commerce provider of pet medications for Vetster, and the company becomes the exclusive provider of telehealth and telemedicine services to PetMeds customers.

Mark Bordo, CEO and co-founder at Vester said that the new partnership will allow them “to empower more pet parents and veterinary professionals by vastly expanding availability and access across North America and around the world.”

“Together, we will set the standard of virtual care and pharmaceutical fulfillment services for millions of pet owners and their veterinary professionals,” said Matt Hulett, CEO and President at PetMed Express.

Earlier in May 2021, Vetster announced they had closed a $9.5 million (€9M) Series A financing round.
