The Swedish manufacturer took over Energique to bolster the business in central Europe.
With the acquisition of an undisclosed amount, Voff Premium Pet Food enters the Dutch market while bolstering its position in the central European market.
According to the company, Energique is expected to boost Voff’s existing portfolio of brands and products as well as its veterinary-approved pet food offered across clinics in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Mårten Bernow, CEO of Voff Premium Pet Food, said that Energique was on its “radar for a long time” as it shares its “passion for enabling healthier and happier pets.”
9 acquisitions since 2014
The acquisition marks Voff’s ninth since launching in 2014. As part of the agreement, Energique’s owners, Esmae Minne and Karel Nijholt, will hand over operational management to incoming Managing Director Jan Fokko Nijdam later this year.
Energique, founded in 1988, is a natural raw dog and cat food manufacturer. It operates across the Netherlands with a presence in the international pet food segment.
In September 2022, Voff took over the Scottish dog treats company Nova. Earlier in the year, the Swedish firm was acquired by Nordic private equity firm Axcel.
