This takeover supports the manufacturer’s strategy to continue expanding as one of the leading agriculture and food companies in North America.
Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Ohio-based Emmert, one of the leading US manufacturers of advanced nutritional solutions for the pet and livestock industries.
Consummation of the acquisition remains subject to the satisfaction of the customary closing conditions.
âEmmert supports Nutritionâs strategic priorities and complements our three core businesses â pet, livestock and aquacultureâ, commented Matt Fanta, President of Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition. âThe acquisition will expand our product and customer base in pet food with value-added products.â
âWe also see great potential for Emmertâs research and development capabilities â which complement our own and can be leveraged in the future across the division, including the livestock and aquaculture businesses,â he concluded.
Emmert should bring more diversification to Wilbur-Ellis Nutritionâs portfolio in an attempt to continue expanding its pet and livestock business in the North American market.
Founded in 1921, Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition develops and provides agricultural products, animal nutrition, and specialty chemicals and ingredients in a portfolio of five distinct businesses. The group employs 4,500 people across North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
Emmert was born as far back as 1881 and is now a pet food producer specializing in high-quality animal nutrition products with protein, vitamins and essential amino acids. Its manufacturing operations are based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
