4 out of 10 British pet parents have difficulties giving their dogs all they need

A new survey from UK charity Dogs Trust reveals that vet bills are the biggest financial concern.

The charity has warned that the increase of prices is leaving many dog owners unable to provide for their dogs.

One in five (20%) pet parents are worried about the cost of dog food, while 15% are concerned about the insurance.

In addition, the Dog Trust has received a record number of calls from people asking them to take in their dogs, in the face of the rising cost of living.

“The UK is fast heading towards a situation in which, due to the cost of living crisis, we’ll have a surplus of dogs whose owners need to give them up, but a deficit of people who can afford to take on a new dog,” claimed CEO Owen Sharp.
