AFB International to build its third facility in North America
A new $79 million facility in Columbus (Georgia) is aimed at helping the company ensure faster delivery to customers.
Jared Lozo, AFB president, explained to GlobalPETS that the company had previously been struggling to maintain high-quality service and delivery standards and foresees the brand new facility as part of this change.
“This plant is key to fulfilling our commitment to be the most responsive and reliable supplier of pet food palatants in the world”, he said.
Brook Eiler, AFB’s Vice President of Global Marketing, added that they feel a “massive responsibility” to pet food companies to deliver the best products how, when and where their customers want them.
The new investment will create more than 100 jobs in the coming five years, which was celebrated by the local government.
The operations of the new facility, the seventh by the Missouri-based company, are expected to begin in 2024. AFB has also facilities producing palatant ingredients for pet food companies in Argentina, Brazil, China, the Netherlands and the United States, alongside a manufacturer in Australia through a joint venture.
