American flexible packaging firm expands into Israel
Illinois-based PPC Flexible Packaging enters the Middle Eastern market after adding StePac to its portfolio.
With the addition of the Israeli company, PPC Flexible Packaging now operates 14 manufacturing facilities in the US and Israel.
Kevin Keneally, President and CEO of PPC, said combining StePac and PPC’s existing product packaging portfolio will bring mutual customers a “much more diverse selection.”
StePac, founded in 1992, manufactures sterilizable and sustainable packaging solutions preventing food waste and product spoilage while improving supply chain benefits. It serves more than 40 countries from its headquarters and research and development center in Tefen, Israel.
More acquisitions
The company completed 8 acquisitions since 2017, including Kansas-based Plastic Packaging Technologies (PPT) in October 2022 and plastic packaging supplier Consumers Packaging Group in September 2021.
The American firm believes that flexible packaging is becoming the “go-to” alternative for the pet food market as it keeps items fresher and requires less space than other types of packaging.
Apart from creating pet food packaging, PPC also manufactures cleanroom packaging for healthcare and medical applications, consumer snack and organic brands, specialty produce, nutraceutical, bakery, and horticulture markets.
